Many people say that the idea of ​​using authentic documents in teaching English to the foreign language learners is bringing many benefits to them because they provide practical experiences in the language classroom. The authentic materials are one of the important tools that the teachers can use in the classroom to make the teaching run smoothly and effectively in conveying the necessary knowledge to all students. Several studies indicate that the use of authentic materials is seen as an useful means of motivating the learners, stimulating their interest and exposing them to the real language they will face in practice. Therefore, this paper analyzes the effects of using authentic materials in teaching and learning a second language.
