Designing the cooking Products to support the people with ditlerent Vision

For the socially sustainable development, the disadvantaged groups including the elderly with visual impairment and the visual loss need special attention. On the one hand, the number of people with vision impairment or vision loss is increasing; on the other hand, they are increasingly aiming for an independent lifestyle in daily activities and integration in the society. This study aims to uncover the needs of the disadvantaged with visual issues, and propose an industrial design to assist them with cooking safely, which is the most dangerous work in the kitchen in general. The study was conducted based on observing a group of participants while they were performing the operation, face-to-face interviews in the kitchen environment that they are familiar with, an analysis within the design field, and a design that fits the requirements, both for them and for the common people to optimize the manufacturer's future business opportunities. The result of the research and the design is a set of four basic products including one pan and three pots, of which there are two electric cookers, one with a steamer.
